The Touchdown Monitor: operator training

Set up The Touchdown Monitor for a pipelay job from a job brief, with live ROV and lay vessel data, then take the fixes the ROV pilot calls for, deal with a lay corridor alarm and make the report.

Step 2

Do the hands-on course

The Touchdown Trainer runs the real program with a simulator sending live ROV, altimeter and lay vessel data, just like a job. No licence is needed.

  1. Download The Touchdown Trainer, unzip it and run TouchdownTrainer.exe.
  2. Type your name as it should appear on your certificate.
  3. Follow the training panel: set everything up from the job brief, then take the fixes the ROV pilot calls for. Each task ticks off when it's done properly, and the Hint button helps if you get stuck.
  4. Answer the 10 quiz questions: 8 right to pass.
  5. Your certificate is saved as a PDF in Documents\Touchdown Training\Certificates.

Get your certificate
